Description
East Cliff and Whitby harbour, North Yorkshire. Iconic view of the East Cliff and Harbour of the famous fishing port of Whitby. The hilltop ruins of Whitby Abbey and historic St Mary's Church overlook the waterfront and protected lower harbor at low tide. The economy of the seaside town in North Yorkshire on England's North Sea is mainly tourism but there are still thriving fisheries. Bram Stoker's novel, Dracula, was set in this old town at the mouth of the River Esk.
