Description
The outer harbour of the quaint fishing village of Porthleven, Cornwall. The harbour was completed in 1825 to provide shelter for ships caught in storms off the south coast of Cornwall. In 1858 the inner harbour was constructed to provide better protection. This is a working harbour still used by commercial fishermen for local catches of lobster, crayfish, and crab.
